Chennai, India (PTI) Mar 07, 2007 Low cost products could facilitate faster spread of telemedicine in developing countries and India poised for a "big growth" in the sector, Michael Nerlich, President, International Society for Telemedicine and eHealth said today. Addressing reporters here through teleconference from Regemburgh University in Germany, he said low cost products could promote telemedicine in a big way. Telemedicine and eHealth had an important role in providing quality health care to the people all over the world, he said. With ISRO providing the back-up network, the telemedicine sector poised for a big growth in India. The 12th International Conference of the society would be held at Chennai from November 2. The two-day conference would bring together global experts in telemedicine to highlight the cutting edge technology, Dr K Ganapathy, Organising Secretary of the conference said.
