AREVA Awarded Contract for Fuel Supply to Trillo Nuclear Power Plant by Staff Writers London, UK (SPX) Nov 10, 2015
AREVA has been selected by the Spanish utility CNAT (Centrales Nucleares Almaraz-Trillo) to supply fuel assemblies to the Trillo nuclear power plant. The company will supply six fuel reloads to CNAT from 2017 to 2022. "With this contract, we continue our long-term cooperation with CNAT which began with the construction of the nuclear power plant in the 1980s. "As of today, we cooperate not only in fuel supply, but also in services and maintenance as well as modernization projects for the Trillo plant", explained Olivier Wantz, Senior Executive Vice President of the Mining and Front End Business Group of AREVA . The Trillo nuclear power plant is a pressurized water reactor with a gross capacity of 1,066 MW. AREVA has been supplying fuel to the Trillo nuclear power plant from its fuel manufacturing plant in Lingen, Germany, since the Trillo plant started operations in 1988.
