Sirius Expands Service In The Prestige Market

New York (SPX) Jul 16, 2004
Sirius and Hertz Thursday announced that they have expanded the availability of Sirius satellite radio service in Hertz's Prestige and Luxury vehicle models.

This month, Hertz will begin offering complimentary Sirius Satellite Radio, along with its current offering of the NeverLost In-Car Navigation system, in the Lincoln LS and Navigator within the Prestige vehicle category.

Later this year, complimentary Sirius service will be expanded into the other Prestige vehicle lines, as factory-installed radios become available in Volvo, Jaguar, and Range Rover vehicles that also have NeverLost installed.

"We are very excited to announce this expansion of our program with Hertz," said Doug Wilsterman, Senior VP of Automotive OEM for Sirius.

"Based on the success of this program, thousands of additional Hertz customers at 53 airport locations around the country will be able to experience the over 120 channels of commercial-free music, news, weather, traffic, information, entertainment and sports programming, including live broadcasts of NFL games, that Sirius offers."

"We've had very positive customer feedback since our nationwide Sirius launch early last year," said Brian Kennedy, Executive Vice President, Sales and Marketing for Hertz.

"We believe the time is right to give our customers in the Prestige Line of vehicles, complimentary Sirius and In-Car Navigation together, and complementary Sirius in the Luxury Line of vehicles."

"Many Hertz customers have asked us to offer both NeverLost and Sirius Satellite Radio in their rental vehicle, and we are pleased to be able to provide both services simultaneously."
