Team leaves space station to move rescue capsule MOSCOW (AFP) Nov 18, 2005 Russian cosmonaut Valeri Tokarev and his American counterpart, William McArthur, left the International Space StationFriday to move the craft's escape module, space officials said. "To make this manoeuvre which aims to free one of the modules of the ISS for the next space walk, the two astronauts boarded the Soyouz TMA-7," Russian space official Valeri Lyndine said. At 0845 GMT the Soyouz TMA-7 rescue capsule was detached from the space station and moved 30 metres (90 feet) before being re-attached 20 minutes later. "The operation was done manually without any problems. It was Valeri Tokarev who was in command of the capsule," said Lyndine. The two astronauts are scheduled to do a space walk in December or January to launch a small satellite. Tokarev and McArthur arrived at the ISS on October 3 for a mission of six months.
