Participants at a UN climate change conference decided early Saturday to hold informal international talks on future efforts to fight global warming in Bonn, Germany in May.

The future of the fight against climate change dominated discussions at the two week conference convening 2,000 diplomats and, in its closing days, a clutch of environment ministers.

The agreement came after marathon talks that continued until Saturday morning, a day after the official close of the conference.

In May, international experts will take a first stab at discussing options for strengthening the fight against the greenhouse effect in the next decade. The meeting has been billed a "seminar" to underline that no decision will be taken.
