    Matsushita Electric Industrial, best known for its Panasonic brand products, on Monday said it will begin selling a 65-inch high-definition plasma display in Japan on October 1.

    The tuner-less screen named VIERA measuring 65 inches diagonally makes it the world's largest plasma display available through consumer sales channels, Matsushita said.

    Matsushita has set a suggested retail price of 2.079 million yendollars) including sales tax. It plans to produce 500 units a year.
